10. Toiréasa Ferris

Hottest Politicians Toireasa Ferr, an Irish Sinn Fein politician, has been a Kerry County Councillor in Tralee since August 2003. Ferris began her political activism in Tralee, where she was a member of Sinn Fein’s youth branch Ogra Shinn Fein.

She also worked at the University of Limerick. She was elected in 2003 to the Kerry County Council seat that Martin Ferris held.

She became the first Sinn Fein Cathaoirleach (Chairperson) of the Council. In 2004, she was elected to the Council and served until 2006. She also became the first woman Mayor of the Council. 

Ferr is a Sinn Fein member on both the Kerry County Council as well as Tralee Town Council. Toireasa is currently a tutor in law at Tralee Community College.

With her husband Patrick, she lives in Ardfert County Kerry with their daughter. Ferris spent seven months working with a Mexican workers’ rights group in Mexico in 2001.
